Project Hotshots Winner - Tricycle via Facebook Raffle
I plan on donating it to a local not for profit called Project Hotshots that raises money to supply children all over the world with backpacks full of school supplies. Every summer they get dozens of local children into our middle school gym to stuff 5000 backpacks for the needy. The tricycle will most likely be raffled off to buy school supplies. You can find out more about Hotshots at Projecthotshots.org. |

Pilsen Community Academy - Chicago Winner - Science Fair Display Boards
This is my first year as a third grade bilingual teacher. During this year I had the opportunity to teach while advancing my own educational career. I am eager to continue learning new teaching strategies to better my students. It has been a challenge, but they say that the first year is the hardest.
While searching the net for new websites that cater to teachers, I stumbled upon Chicago School Supply. I was introduced to many great ideas on their Education BLOG and discovered many free projects to incorporate into my classroom. What I most enjoy about the Chicago School Supply's website is its navigational simplicity. I plan on purchasing the Ant Hill kit for the 2009-2010 school year so my students can be introduced to an ant's life cycle. |
