Background:
Cory was born in Danville, Illinois (aka D-Vegas to the locals, baby!). Growing up in a tight knit community, he focused much of his attention on sports, family, and friends. He played (or attempted to play) every sport in the book. It was here that he learned to love competition, leadership, and the sweet, sweet taste of victory!

He later went on to attend Illinois State University. There, he changed majors several times before discovering that there was an entire degree available in exercise and fitness! Thats when his life changed 180 degrees. He went from hating to attend class to looking forward to learning about physiology and the human body. It was here that he discovered to think out of the box and be creative.

After graduating in 2004, Cory moved out to Arizona to complete an internship in personal training and wellness. It was a chance to get out of the small town, midwest mindset and explore the west. It was a true moment of zen. He found out that he could get paid to exercise and entertain others!

In 2005 he started his own personal training business. During the next 6 years he expanded from offering 1 service in 1 location to offering multiple services in 6 locations. It was during that time that he learned to respect the ups and downs of business ownership. He learned a lot about people, motivation, determination, business, and relationships. In may of 2010, after the 2008 changes in the economy took hold, he re-evaluated his business and decided it was time to move on.

In June of 2010, it was time for a change. He was ready to get back to his family and childhood friends. Chicago had always been a favorite of his and he had always wanted to live in the city. After moving back to Illinois Cory found Michael Ockrim and Chicago School Supply. It was a perfect fit. He loved the business, the attitude of the leadership, and the company culture. He is currently an outside sales rep and working in the west side of Chicago.
