San Diego 1/2 Marathon to Support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Chicago School Supply's Web 2.0 Guru, Mrs. Amy Dunn, has decided to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Amy's goal is to support this outstanding organization that funds lifesaving research, education, and patient services to those battling a blood cancer related illness.
On June 6 Amy will be running in the 2010 Rock 'n' Roll San Diego 1/2 Marathon.
Yes, Amy, who takes the elevator to avoid going up one flight of stairs, who hates the look of sneakers, and who despises getting up early and walking somewhere - let alone running. Amy is changing her ways and has asked for support from Chicago School Supply!
Why is Amy Doing This?
She made a promise to herself this year that she would seek some way to contribute her time and energy to support those who have been touched by cancer;

Why is Amy Doing This?
She made a promise to herself this year that she would seek some way to contribute her time and energy to support those who have been touched by cancer;
Amy is doing this because she is blessed with health (and wants to stay healthy), while hundreds of thousands Americans are battling blood related cancers;
Because she has a healthy little girl, while Leukemia is causing more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20;
Because research done on Leukemia and blood related cancers will impact and apply to other cancer research;
Because Amy wants to set a good example for her daughter by doing something that they can both can be proud of;
And she wants to silence that little voice in her head that is saying You Cannot Do This...
Good luck in San Diego Amy! Everyone in the Chicago School Supply family is sending positive thoughts your way. Keep focused throughout your months of training and know that the actual event is the destination - remember to enjoy the journey...
